Poetry Break - Douglas Florian Poem

Introduction
Bring daisies and daffodils to arrange in a vase. Show a flower bulb or corm and talk about the earliest flowers that bloom in spring.

Extension
Have die-cut daisy flower shapes in different colors ready to share. Have lines of poem’s first verse printed out onto white paper circles. Children can cut out the circles, glue them onto the flower shapes, and then glue the flowers together. Tape a length of yarn to the first and last flower to create a cheerful spring poem hang-up.
